The Dancing Divas of Indian Cinema comes to iZulu Theatre, Sibaya this weekend Saturday, 2 March 2019 at 3 pm and 7 pm and 3 March 2019 at 3 pm.
Since its inception, Indian Cinema has made song and dance a major part of its storytelling. This age-old tradition in cinema positioned India in a league of its own when it came to the presentation of films. Over the years, Indian cinema was graced by a plethora of graceful women who performed from their souls and danced with their hearts. While many celebrate the iconic actor’s of Indian cinema, this showcase pays tribute to the women in cinema.
This show is crafted to entertain patrons of all ages with the colours, dreams, drama, dance, music, and soul of Indian cinema.
The dancers of the Nateshwar Dance Academy brings the magic of Indian Cinema to life with soulful choreography and dazzling costumes. We at Tempest Media have crafted the visual content for this show featuring elements of cinema, architecture and visual art.
This is a tribute to the soulful diva’s of the golden era – Madhubala, Meena Kumari & Vyjayanthimala and a celebration of the dream girl Hema Malini, Asha Parekh, the timeless Waheeda Rehman and the Umrao of Bollywood Rekha, the late Sridevi, the Dhak-dhak girl Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the talented superstar of today, Deepika Padukone.
